Cambodian Based Nigerian Footballer and Striker of the NagaWorld FC in the Metfone Cambodian League, RICHARD RASHEED OMOKAFE celebrated his birthday today 13th July with several African players from the metfone Cambodia league and other friends.
The striker whose recent form has drawn the attention of Sports Media within and outside the country has become a sensation not only with the Cambodian Football League but the entire sports world in South East Asia brought together his colleagues at a party held in his Phnom Penh Resident.
The party which was some worth of a low key according to the player was to appreciate the love and affection he has enjoyed playing in Cambodia and sees it as a opportunity to give Thanks to God.
“I want to thank God almighty for this day and also to give thanks to My Mother who brought me to this world” he told talkmewo.tv shortly after cutting the birthday cake.
Richard also thanked the guests who showed up despite being invited on short notice as this is actually his first time to celebrate his birthday and he only planned for it following the overwhelming wishes he received from many of his fans through their facebook posts.
The guests not only enjoyed the good food provided by Richard’s mum who is proprietor of IYA IBO Restuarant, but also took time to interact and some others enjoyed time out playing snookers.
With Music blasting from the sound system of DY Proff, some players couldnt restrict the urge to take to the dancing floor.
The cake which had photos of the player and logo of his current club was then cut after the guest had sang the customary Happy Birthday Song following which the former BBU striker cut the cake accompanied by his team mates and friends.
“I am happy for him, we grew up in the same hood at Orile and so meeting here again makes us feel much like home. I wish him a happy birthday and many happy returns” says Blazeal, an music maestro who grew up with the celebrant back home in Nigeria.
For team mate Kelechi George, He is happy to see Richard celebrating his birthday and hopes their partnership on the field of play could help their club NAGA to glory. “He is a good player, i am happy for him and hope we continue to play together to help Nagaworld” he said.
Coach Olajide Peter, who is assitant coach at Nagaworld advised the player to remain humble and not allow his recent star status to swell his head. “he is a good player and very humble, i think he is just starting his career and has many more years ahead of him, my advise for him is for him to remain humble and continue to work hard, i see him moving to greater places soon and wish him all the best” the Nigeria born coach said.
